Real estate company Zillow has rated the best cities to trick or treat in the United States for the past four years, becoming something of an expert in the field of national candy consumption. They just released their ranking for 2012, and the top for swindling sweets this year (based on population density, value of homes in the area, walkability of the neighborhood and local crime data) is apparently San Francisco.
Frankly, I’m surprised my hometown neighborhood in southeast Michigan didn’t make the list, because Halloween night was a candy bonanza in that place. And by that I mean a bunch of rich old people who hated children just left giant bowls of king size Snickers on their porch, so if you hit the streets early enough you could easily fill up a pillowcase with quality sweets before going to egg the home of the kid who accidentally rolled over your foot with his rolling backpack between 3rd and 4th period. Ah, youth…
If you still think of Halloween as an opportunity to score free snacks, I encourage you to explore one of these great trick or treating destinations this October 31st. I, meanwhile, will be drinking something intoxicating out of a plastic cauldron and subsequently leaving several parts of my costume around the streets of New York City. To each their own!

I definately agree with San Diego
The city is pleasant and well laid out
