via @sportdiver - Fun fact: I once took a scuba certification class in Maui but then chickened out before actually making the big dive in the island’s famous Molokini crater – I dunno, it must have been something about the multiple sharks I saw. Oh well, at least I can live vicariously through this Maui diving guide.

via @elatlboy- Gotta show love to a Michigan tweet. Although I’ve never been to St. Joseph (and never spent much time on the beachy shores of western MI), I can’t help but feel a little nostalgic for my home state whenever I see pics of the Mitten.

via @thetblogger - I was once on a couple’s getaway in Montreal that was ruined when the person I was with got wasted while we were out and lost their wallet – passport included. Luckily we were just across the border from the US and this was still in the days when the Canadian border patrol was all “LOL whatevs” about crossing, so it wasn’t that big of a deal. If we had been further afield, however, it would have been nice to know these tips for what to do when your passport vanishes into thin air.

via @velvetescape - Speaking of Canada and getting hammered, did you know that there’s a wine industry in Nova Scotia? I sure as hell didn’t, but now that I do I’ll have to schedule some time to hop up there and in one of the island’s more seasonable months to get my drank on.

via @flashpackat40 - I have three words for you: Sri Lanka, elephants, and chocolate cake. ‘Nuff said.

  1. Love the great wall of china image. Its a bit of a hike to get away from the crowds, but well worth it. I think if your going to do it on the cheap, head to Badling for the full on Chinese experience.

  2. Lots of beautiful beaches and coastline along the western Michigan coastline. St. Joseph was a nice stop. Hope you can make it back to the Mitten and there sometime. Thanks for the blog post sharing!
